First, visit the wp-admin link for your site to log in:
https://www.your-site.com/wp-admin/
Note: Replace the “www.your-site.com/” portion with your own domain.
Use one of these free apps on your phone
Download from the official app store on your phone.

- 📱Your favorite authenticator app that supports Time-Based One-Time Passwords (TOTP)
Setup Steps (take your time – it only takes a few minutes):
- After you log in to wp-admin, click Login Security on the left side menu.
- Open your app on your phone and tap the [+] button (or the camera/scan icon) to add a new login.
Hold your phone camera up to the square QR code on your computer screen until the app beeps and adds it.
If you are doing this on your phone right now (and cannot scan your own screen):
Look below the QR code on the screen. You will see a long string of letters and numbers.
In your app, choose “Enter key manually” or “Manual entry”. Type or paste that string into the app.
- Click the Download button and save the recovery codes.
Print them or save the file somewhere safe — these are your backup codes in case you ever lose your phone. - Type the 6-digit code shown in your app into the box on the screen.
- Click Activate.
You’re all set!
To Log In Later
- Go to: https://www.your-domain.com/wp-admin/
- Enter your username and password.
- Open your app and type the current 6-digit code.
Helpful Tips
- The code in your app changes every 30 seconds. If the timer is almost done, just wait a second for the next code.
- Keep your recovery codes in a safe place.
- If you get stuck at any step or lose your phone, contact us.
